Edmonton
Glee
Edmonton Glee, generously funded by the Sir Harvey McGrath Foundation, is the flagship annual event for us at the Edmonton Community Partnership (ECP). It is a programme that positively changes the lives of many of the children and young people in the area. Glee brings together over 350 students, offering free lessons in performing arts after school. Pineapple Performing Arts provides each school with 18 weeks’ tuition in singing, dancing and drama, which culminates in a grand finale performance at a prestigious London theatre, which for the last two years has been at the Hackney Empire, where the Glee Champions are crowned. Prizes are awarded to the winners, including certificates, trophies and free scholarships with Pineapple.
We’re very proud of the effect Glee has had on people within our community, and the final is always one of our favourite nights of the year. Edmonton’s young people can accomplish anything when they're given what they need to pursue their passions, and Glee has been a celebration of that every year.
